Dior and I

Dior and I
Director / Writer: Frédéric Tcheng
Released: 10 April 2015
Length: 90m

Dior and I is so beautiful I was moved to tears, and that is despite my distaste for Dior's relatively conventional women's dresses and my discomfort with the lanky, white, too-young models.  The documentary follows Raf Simons through the rushed preparation for his first haute couture show as artistic director of Dior.  You get to see the crafts-people behind the scenes, hear inklings of the ideas behind the clothes from Raf, and stay up all night with the workers trying to finish the pieces.  The hard work culminates in a fashion show staged in a large house with breathtaking interior design done specifically for the event.  I won't spoil the surprise, but when the camera entered the space, I literally started crying.  I so wish I could have been in the small audience to see it!  Dior and I is the next best thing!
