ATUS 5th Anniversary concert.  Felt really, really good about the concert as a whole.  Students did wonderfully, emcee went okay, audience loved it.

I really flubbed Radiddlepa, but people said they enjoyed it.  It's a strange moment for me being congratulated after a performance I don't feel I did well enough.  I can participate in the celebrations to some degree -- I'm proud to have braved it and to have moved the piece forward -- but I feel embarassed and shy somehow, like the God of Music is looking down on me judgmentally.  I guess I didn't fail at everything; the entrance of the first hinoki bachi was better (taking Patrick's suggestion of making that more of an "entrance") and the quiet ending felt more in control than ever before.

next approach (for RTG concert)
- cold runthrough every practice
- more slow practice with focus on Cuica, Unagi, and ending
- sectional improv (When working on a section, spend time vamping on the groove and searching for variations.  Then go back and forth between free groove and composed parts.)

- try again at glitch breakdown of Scales section (using David's suggestion of breaking the scale too)
- ask other composers their thoughts (Andy, Chad, Chris)
