Randy is an incredible person -- working on his dissertation in transgender experiences in the jazz world and gigging with great musicians. He's really open-minded and gives great feedback. It was really inspiring to be able to trade solos with Randy, to have him excited about what I'm working on, and to feel like I'm on the right track.

My plan: bring new instrument or idea to every practice. If we start to falter in this particular piece, try covering Gengakki or one of David's pieces.
