First studio session. Inspiring place!
When I watched the Grand Annex version of "Whoa" before coming I was disheartened that so much of it was improvised. I thought I'd just be polishing before the video shoot at Keshet.
But then I realized that if the piece isn't set, I might as well use takebachi. So I worked out a schedule for tackling the various sections of the piece and started re-writing.
I haven't been taking daily notes (no internet at Minh's place) but the daily schedule has been...
practice in the morning
mid-day studio time
practice in the afternoon
(prev. "Class of 19", and "La Jolla Day School" on Octatrack)
Naname to electronic music for La Jolla Taiko and La Jolla Country Day School.

TO-DOs
Didn't take practice notes while in Portland working on Distracted Driving. This single diary entry tries to summarize the work. Videos of Portland work have not been uploaded... live in "/music/distractedDriving/exploratoryImprov/" folder.
New composition, initially intended for ATUS/LATI 2019 Recital but is becoming more ambitious. Hope to eventually have many versions and tour the piece to really polish the piece, like Jack Bazaar.

TO-DOs
Felt relatively inspired but didn't go in with plan. Wound up practicing more than composing.
