Back to it!  Wound up taking yesterday off to work on speaker with Russell.

Current concept
- Build 1 is "passing" theme: horizontal, Doppler
- Build 2 is ?
- End is "intersection" theme that smashes the two previous themes together

Ways of "intersecting"
- stoplight: taking turns, aux. instruments orchestrate
- yield, merge: phrases interleave peacefully
- near miss: contrasting phrases with overlapping takebachi swipes
- collision: rhythms mangled

Second round of composition.  Closing my email program... trying to focus.

Need to make progress on Distracted Driving.  Feel less intimidated by Build 2 (perhaps R takebachi leads to L takebachi) but should probably work on ending.

Work on Build 1 "Lead" before dinner.  Feeling inspired but nervous about having to teach another major thing next Sunday.  Want to finish this Build 1 stuff and turn to... ending?

Today's breakthrough felt like a flower slowly opening.  I thought of the idea in bed this morning but it was only as I was explaining it and the students were practicing that the significance of the idea "blossomed".
