Attempts at composition.  Was hoping looper and/or H4 would be helpful but H4 is broken and SM57 doesn't pick up the swishes.

To do: try looper with o-oke brushes and bring GR mic-pre for boosting level of swishes.

Pushed practice back 30 min due to late night at ATUS.  Feeling fairly motivated.  After first bit of practice, took break to research how to do overdubs on Zoom H5.  Turns out it won't really work as a 4-track recorder.  Tomorrow, bring H4 and/or looper.

Staff and students of Asano Taiko US and Los Angeles Taiko Institute (LATI) present contemporary and traditionally inspired taiko repertoire in their end-of-year recital.  Performances are interspersed with explanations of the roots and context of taiko and commentary on the challenges and joys of learning Japanese drums.
