Chiaida
Concept(s)
- high-tension burst of hits
- bachi clicks ("chi") allow for larger arm movements while maintaining 16th-note runs
Current use(s)
- unsure how to arrange in Jack Bazaar effectively (see Jack Bazaar: Taiko Jam 2015)
Potential use(s)
- naname duet; two players take turns filling all 16th notes with chaida as climax
Hedge Trimmer
Most commonly used as penultimate section of Jack Bazaar. The first armswing move, Hedge Trimmer, was written as "quick filler" but turned out to be very compelling choreography (due to its simplicity?).
Concept(s)
- six patterns selected for variety in rhythm, movement, and foot positions
- originally intended to be played simultaneously with Runaway, with matching and differing moments between the two
- jiuchi cuts out to emphasize Hedgetrimmer arm swings
