Performance of Radiddlepa at the "Locations and Dislocations" conference at Rider University. Selected from 60+ applicants.
Hiro and I planned to make the trip our first attempt at traveling with our bikes, putting them in suitcases for the flight and then riding from Philadelphia to Princeton to Newark. Unfortunately, Hiro's bike wasn't done in time and the workshop-teaching opportunities I'd hoped for fell through. So the 4+ tons of carbon we generated only enabled me to attend the conference and visit friends and relatives. Thankfully, both of these things were absolutely wonderful, but all-told, the trip wasn't a very potent use of my carbon. Despite my best attempts, scheduling a densely-packed tour proved elusive.
Lessons learned
- need at least five months lead-time to plan tour (2-3 months contacting groups before purchasing tix)
- need workshop offerings PDF
- east-coast public transportation is great
