WRAP-UP

"Class of 19 / Potentiation" turned out well and I was glad we tackled it.  I think it was a positive addition to the show (positive feedback from audience) and some newer members expressed interest in learning the piece.

The basic structure -- "scaffolding" to develop the phrases, A -> B -> A over B layering -> all play A B together -- seemed like the most bang for the practice buck.  Perhaps in the future, there should also be a "C" that's played together.  This electronic music + taiko concept is also going to be messy.  We had a decent sound engineer and decent speakers and I'm still not sure if it sounded very good.  I'll need to invest time in figuring out how to help groups overcome the technical challenges of hearing the music and balancing the recording with the live drums.  Or maybe taiko groups will always just replace the electronics with drum parts in performance.
