Check that linux kernel can see mixer
If you see the mixer on one of the lines, the kernel can see it too. USB 3.0 hubs will automatically switch to USB 2.0. (The Wing appears to be USB 2.0.)
Alternately, you can watch the system log while plugging in the mixer to check that the connection is being made.
Connections and disconnections should show immediate entries in the log. Note that other distributuions might store the system log in another location. Debian's is /var/log/messages.
