Obituary

March 3 1944 -- October 20 2015

Jon Martin Bergstrom, 71, enthusiastic van Gogh historian, died Tueaday of cancer at his home in Tehachapi California.

Born in Casper, Wyoming, to Einar and Hettie Bergstrom, he attended University of Wyoming, worked at Shell / Aera for 35 years, and after retirement, was an independent management consultant.  Following his experiences in Vietnam, Jon was fervently opposed to war and worked to perpetuate a culture of peace in his personal affairs.  He was a lover of science, an avid golfer, and a devoted van Gogh historian and painter.  He died with both ears.

He is survived by his wife of 48 years, Diane, two children, Nicole and Kristofer, and two granddaughters Cordelia and Hazel Noel.  A celebration of his life will be held Saturday, October 24 at 2pm at Oak Tree Country Club, 29500 North Lower Valley Road, Tehachapi CA 93561.  In lieu of flowers, donations on behalf of Jon Bergstrom are welcome to the following organizations.
